George Fox University Athletics and the Chehalem Park and Recreation District are excited to announce the inaugural Bruins Sports Day. The afternoon will be spent learning basic skills from members of the George Fox athletic teams and coaching staff. Invite young children to enjoy a fun-filled day on the beautiful George Fox campus. More information can be found at this link. If you have questions, please contact the Chehalem Park and Recreation District at 503-554-0283.
Do you enjoy working with people in a campus environment? Are you interested in working, but can’t commit to full-time work during the semester because of all your classes? We are about to start recruiting temporary associates to work our busy back-to-school season. We prefer candidates to have retail or cashiering experience, but we are willing to train the right people.
Job requirements:
Preferred qualifications: Retail or cashier experience

The Bruin Store will be receiving applications through Aug. 13. Employees, please let your students know about this opportunity.

This is a last call for departments to send housing the names of your students coming to campus early this fall! If you have anyone moving into campus housing before Aug. 29 (or 27th for new students), email housing@georgefox.edu to get an early arrival form sent your way.
We need everything in by Thursday, July 30, at the very latest. Thanks for your help in making this process as seamless as possible!
This is just a reminder that whenever a job is being submitted to Print Services, your department’s chart of accounts number must accompany the job. Print Services is not responsible for knowing your chart of accounts number.
If a work-study student is submitting a job, please make sure they are provided the chart of accounts number. This is the full string of numbers and not just the six-digit department ID. Therefore, it should look like this, for example: 54510-10000-610100-MG130-ALL.
Thank you for your help. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Richard Silver at rsilver@georgefox.edu or 503-554-2551.
We’re off to a great start on our brand new vehicle registration system! Thank you to all who hopped right on and registered. We have a few more tips to make the registration process easier, and to hopefully answer some questions that came up last week.
Please feel free to call security during business hours at 503-554-2090 or email Nadine Kincaid at nkincaid@georgefox.edu if you still have unanswered questions or encounter difficulty in the registration process.

The link to each of these position announcements can be found at jobs.georgefox.edu. If you know of someone you believe might provide a good fit for any of these jobs, please refer the person to the website for information about the job and instructions about applying.
The Bruin Den will be closed Aug. 3-14, but we’ve still got lunch covered for you! Stop by the Bruin Den Tuesday or Wednesday (July 28-29) between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and purchase a picnic punch card. You may also purchase the card in the food service office any day (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
For only $30 you receive a card good for five picnic-style lunches, which will be served out of the Groovy Bruin on the quad and you will also receive a 10 percent discount on your first “lunch club” card if purchased at the same time. There will be a variety of delicious sandwiches, sides and desserts, plus a beverage that you can customize to create a lunch just the way you like it!

Only hours remain before voting closes in an online contest to pick your favorite Elite 89 student-athlete from the 2014-15 season. Among the contestants is George Fox wing Sammy Naluai, who was the Bruins’ “sixth man” on a squad that reached the finals of the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament and went 32-1 on the season.
The Elite 89 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 89 championships. Last week’s voting narrowed the field down to 30 semifinalists. Voting can be done on this page and closes at 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) tonight (Tuesday), when the field will be narrowed down to 10 finalists. Be sure to click “Save Votes” at the bottom of the page to register your vote.
The winner will be celebrated from NCAA social media accounts on July 24. Be sure to cast a vote for Sammy! You can read more about her award here.
