May is quickly slipping by and with it the opportunity to nominate colleagues for Support Staff Member of the Year and/or Administrator of the Year. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, May 29.

Do you have a colleague you believe is deserving of this award and meets the criteria provided in the April 9 email from Peggy Kilburg? If so, please take a few minutes to submit a nomination. You only need send an email to Peggy (pkilburg@georgefox.edu) stating the reasons you believe the person deserves this award.

International Students Services would like to thank everyone for their donations to our garage sale last Friday and Saturday! We took in more than $500. All of this is being used for an International Student Emergency Fund.

Depending on the weather, Plant Services will hopefully finish restriping the parking lots near Pennington, Weesner Village and Weesner House this week, in addition to the “lollipop” lot by Klages and the little Stevens lot. Projected dry days are Wednesday and Friday, but this could change.

Please don’t park in those lots on Wednesday and we will see how much gets finished. Alternate parking is available on Sheridan Street and by the tennis courts. If the lots aren’t all finished they will be completed on the next dry day, which could be Thursday or Friday. Keep an eye on Daily Bruin for more information.

Over the next week we will be migrating to a new and improved version of Concerto. But we need to start with a clean slate for security purposes. What this means is that you will need to get your photos ready to upload to the new version.

If you need any photos from the old version, please contact Mac Oxford (moxford@georgefox.edu). The last day on the old Concerto will be Friday, May 15. Emails will be sent out in the next few business days describing how to access your new accounts.

The College of Business’ MBA program is hosting its Spring Speaker Series on Friday, May 22, at the Portland Center. We’re excited to announce that the keynote speaker is Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey. The event runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and is free to attend. Everyone is welcome.

Come to a garage sale with a great cause! The Office of International Student Services is organizing a garage sale and will use proceeds for an International Student Emergency Fund.

Visit us between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. today (Friday) and Saturday at the International Student Services office at 1110 E Sheridan St. It’s an inexpensive way to help international students who may encounter unexpected financial needs. We’ll have books, toys, clothes, kitchenware and much more at affordable prices.

End-of-the-year deposits to be credited toward this year’s budget must be at the financial affairs office no later than Monday, July 6. Please look around your desks and file cabinets to see if there are any lingering items that need to go to the bank. Final petty cash reconciliations for this fiscal year are due at the FAO no later than Thursday, July 9. Please remember to submit all receipts, cash and reconciliation reports before this deadline. Interested in learning a stringed instrument? Or playing in a small ensemble? Beginning and intermediate string classes are offered fall and spring semesters for 1 credit, meeting Mondays and Wednesdays at noon.

These classes will be set up as chamber groups focusing on technique, while learning classical and fiddle music. Register for MUSI 285 A (beginning), or MUSI 285 B (intermediate).

Mail Services is an unofficial drop site for all Oregon ballots. Arrangements have been made with the Yamhill County Elections Office for us to offer this services. We accept any Oregon ballot (any county), and there is no postage necessary.

The deadline for this drop-off site is 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19. Any out-of-state ballots must be mailed with postage.
