Love your Newberg neighbors by participating in Saturday Service, starting Oct. 12
Either individually or with a group, team or club, the Office for Spiritual Life encourages you to engage in service. Saturday Service, starting on Oct. 12 and running through Nov. 23, will offer weekly off-campus opportunities to put our love of neighbor into practical action. Students will receive one chapel elective credit for each week of Saturday Service attended.
Saturday Service regularly partners with organizations, including:
- Habitat for Humanity (9 a.m. to noon) – Help build houses alongside both local volunteers and the future residents of the home you are building! If construction isn’t your thing, volunteer at the ReStore to help provide discounted building materials and home goods to the community. Sign up on Helper-Helper.
- The Wood Ministry of Newberg (9 to 11 a.m.) – Split, stack and deliver wood alongside veterans and other volunteers to keep homes warm for the winter. And, of course, stop for donut and coffee breaks as often as needed! Sign up on Helper-Helper.
Both students and employees are encouraged to participate! Email the spiritual life office at spirituallife@georgefox.edu with any questions.
