Symphonic Band performs free concert Thursday

The university’s Symphonic Band and the Newberg Community Band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in Bauman Auditorium.

The Symphonic Band will perform Dies Natalis, by Howard Hanson; Ave Maria (Angelus Domini), by Franz Biebl, arranged by Robert C. Cameron; and Commando March, by Samuel Barber. The band is directed by Pat Vandehey. The Hanson piece is a small preview of the upcoming Christmas Concert.

The Newberg Community Band, directed by Dick Elliott, will perform Loudoun Praises, by Brian Balmages; Colonial Airs and Dances, by Robert Jager; and Symphonic Fanfare, by Mark Camphouse.
