Seminary hosts author Scot McKnight for Sept. 29 seminar
George Fox Evangelical Seminary will host author Scot McKnight for a one-day seminar, “In the Beginning was the Gospel,†from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 29, in Room 155 at the Portland Center. The event is part of the seminary’s Ministry in Contemporary Culture series.
McKnight, author of The Blue Parakeet: Rethinking How You Read the Bible, will discuss “the many differences between how we ‘evangelize’ and how the apostles evangelized.†He poses such questions as “Do we need to re-examine the meaning of ‘gospel’?â€, “Did Jesus preach the gospel or were the apostles the first to preach the gospel?â€, and “How important is the cross to the gospel?â€
