University hosts 12th annual Serve Day on Wednesday, Sept. 8
Serve Day is coming up soon! The entire university community will unite together on Wednesday, Sept. 8, for our 12th annual Serve Day, participating in a variety of service opportunities in Newberg and the surrounding area.
Below is the schedule of the events for the day.
- 7:30-8:20 a.m. – Continental breakfast begins and bagging of your own lunch (provided by Bon Appétit)
- 7:45-8:15 a.m. – Bag your own lunch (special community coupons are attached to the lunch bags)
- 8:30 a.m. – Kick-off celebration on the quad lawn
- 9 a.m. – Groups meet at numbered stakes on lawn, and depart for service site
- Lunch – Eat with your group at the service site
- 4 p.m. (approximate) – Participants return to campus
- 4 p.m. – Serve Fest and community fair for all participants and families
- 4:30-6:30 p.m. – Dinner
The cost of breakfast and the evening dinner is covered for all members of the university community (excluding family members). If you would like to invite family or friends to Serve Fest and would like to purchase dinner tickets, please fill out this linked form. If you are not a team leader and would like to purchase a lunch, please fill out this form (gluten-free lunches are available by request on the morning of Serve Day).
All Newberg employees are required to attend Serve Day. If you have not received an assignment by Monday, Sept. 6, please e-mail serveday@georgefox.edu. The university will be shut down during Serve Day, so make sure to set up an away message on your e-mail if needed. You will be receiving the details on your final service assignment on Monday, Sept. 6.
