Important Spiritual Formation Information – Please read carefully!

Here are some important elements you need to know regarding the process of Spiritual Formation attendance.

You will be able to slide your ID card at any of the eight card readers at the Bauman entry doors until 10:45 a.m. If you slide your card through after that time your attendance will not be counted that day.

When sliding your card through the card reader place the mag strip facing to the right and look for the green light to come on. As soon as you see it turn green, please proceed into the auditorium so others can scan their card.

  • There are numerous places you can find the Spiritual Formation calendar:
  • Your Bruindata attendance record
  • Calendar you received in your campus mailbox
  • Campus Ministries and Student Life home pages on the web – coming soon!

Please remember it is your responsibility for regularly checking your own record of attendance in Bruindata. Generally, the specific chapel you attend will appear on Bruindata within 48 hours.

You can gain 4 spiritual formation credits if you regularly attend a small study group. Please see Mark Benjamin (Stevens Center, 3rd floor) to sign up or receive more information.

Exemption applications are available in Student Life Office or online for those who fit the exemption criteria. They are due no later than this Friday, September 7, 2007. There are partial exemptions (11 required attendance) and full exemptions (all 21 exempted). You can access the form at http://www.georgefox.edu/offices/student_life/forms.html

Thank you for having integrity in the attendance process. Sliding your card means you will attend the entire chapel. Obviously, it is not appropriate for people to slide their card and then leave the chapel, or to leave part way through the service (unless there is a significant emergency). Thank you for being honest.

If you have any questions or need help in any way, please contact Jere Witherspoon (x.2316) or Mark Pothoff (x.2313) via phone or email, or visit us on the 3rd floor of the Stevens Center. We hope you have a wonderful semester and pray that God will bless your life in your time at GFU!
