‘Global Human Flourishing’ is topic of tonight’s LACI lecture

All are invited to the final Liberal Arts and Critical Issues presentation of the semester tonight (Monday) in Hoover 105, when Geri Mason, an assistant professor of economics at Seattle Pacific University, speaks on the topic “Global Human Flourishing: Should Markets be Freer? Fairer? Forsaken?” The same presentation will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. and again from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are asked to attend the later session.

The presentation will discuss strategies of how we should interact with profit-seeking corporations, advocates of fair trade, humanitarian NGOs, and governments that control institutions vital to development. Her presentation is the 10th in the “Majority World and the West” series.
