Free French Food at Fourth Fox French Film Festival
The university’s French and cinema programs have joined forces to present the fourth Fox French Film Festival on concurrent Fridays, Feb. 27 and March 6, in Hoover 105.
Opening the festival will be La Première Etoile (Meet the Elizabethz), a lighthearted comedy about a family of French Caribbean descent living in a French suburb who decide to go skiing for the first time during spring break. It shows at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27.
Also that night, at 9 p.m., the comedy Les Saveurs du Palais (Haute Cuisine) will be featured. It is based on the extraordinary true story of President François Mitterand’s private cook. Hortense Laborie, a renowned chef from the Périgord, is astonished when the President of the Republic appoints her his personal cook, responsible for creating all his meals at the Elysée Palace.
Filmgoers will also have the chance to indulge in crêpes and other French fare during the intermission for free between the shows.
