‘Bad Poetry’ sign-up deadline is Friday, Feb. 13

Longing for a low-key, low-pressure night full of literary laughs? Then sigh no more: “Bad Poetry Night” is coming on Friday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Lemmons 8.

“Bad poetry” doesn’t just mean your middle school love poems (though it certainly could include them). It could be a dramatic reading of a song, a Facebook post, or a series of tweets. It could be a truly awful poem you stumbled across on the Internet. It could be spoken word (or something akin to it). Or it could simply be a “bad” reading of a poem traditionally thought to be “good.”

The sign-up sheet will be posted in the Minthorne mail room. The deadline to sign up is this Friday, Feb. 13. The event is being sponsored by the George Fox chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English Honor Society.
