Alumna from Afghanistan speaks tonight
Join us tonight (Monday) for the “Islam and the West” Liberal Arts and Critical Issues lecture featuring alumna Suhila Haidary, who will speak on the topic “Trapped in the Crossfire: Women and Children Under the Taliban.” The session runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Hoover 105.
Haidary was a child of 6 when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. She will share on the experience of women and children during and after Taliban rule, highlighting the artificial divisions and injustices created by radical Islamist rule.
