Guest lecturer speaks on ‘Demystifying Islam’ Monday night
The campus community is invited to the next installment of the “Islam and the West” Liberal Arts and Critical Issues series this Monday, Sept. 29, in Hoover 105.
The session runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features Harris Zafar, national spokesperson for the Ahmadiyyah Muslim Community. He will speak on “Demystifying Islam: Major Misconceptions,” in which he will address the question, “What are the major areas of angst and confusion about Islam in the minds of non-Muslims around the world?” Zafar will tackle such difficult topics as Jihad, Shariah Law and freedom of religion.
The same session is presented from 5 to 6 p.m.; however, it is recommended that the general public attend the evening session, if possible.
