Candidates in May’s primary election visit campus April 22
More than a dozen candidates for six local offices in Oregon’s May primary election (county, state and congressional) will field questions in a moderated forum hosted by the Yamhill County meeting of the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest.
The meeting is from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Villa Academic Complex. The moderator will be John Fortmeyer, publisher of the Christian News Northwest newspaper and co-coordinator, along with Deborah Tilden, of the monthly Christian Chamber meeting.
To date, the following candidates have accepted the Christian Chamber’s invitation to participate:
- Oregon State House District 24: Jim Weidner (R) Ken Moore (D)
- Oregon State House District 25: Bill Post (R) Barbara Jensen (R)
- Oregon State Senate District 13: Kim Thatcher (R) Ryan Howard (D) (attendance tentative)
- Oregon First Congressional District: Jason Yates (R) Delinda Morgan (R) Bob Niemeyer (R)
- Yamhill County Commission Position 1: Sal Peralta Stan Primozich David Russ Brett Veatch Bill Willis
- Yamhill County Commission Position 3: Debra Bridges Mary Starrett
