Engineering’s annual ‘Wobble-Off’ set for this afternoon
Swing by EHS today (Thursday) to see the engineering department’s 10th annual “Wobble-Off” competition. Engines will be on display in the EHS Atrium from 2 to 3 p.m., and the engine competition begins at 3 p.m. in Wood-Mar Auditorium.
Come and enjoy this demonstration of freshman engineering students’ first projects – an exciting variety of oscillating steam/air-operated engines. The event highlights the students’ first-year studies in engineering design, solid modeling and machining, and showcases the creative and impressive results of their design-build projects.
The students’ engines will compete in a variety of categories, including maximum speed, minimum vibration, maximum coast, cost efficiency and creativity/craftsmanship.
