Play Description: This celebrated comic masterpiece, written in 1743 in the great Italian tradition of Commedia Dell’Arte, tells the story of Truffaldino, a young, simpleminded and occasionally clever servant who finds himself in over his head when he impulsively agrees to manage two masters at the same time without either of them knowing about it. The play also features two pairs of swooning lovers, two angry fathers, and a host of additional simpleminded servants.
