Former head of British charity speaks on campus Sept. 25

All are welcome to the next Christian Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the Villa Academic Complex. Jonathan Booth, a native of Great Britain who formerly led Care for the Family – a British sister organization of Focus on the Family – will speak from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on what it means to be a significant Christian business owner.

Booth led a missionary organization for 10 years that specialized in giving students an experience in overseas missions. In 1989, he became the first chief executive officer of Care for the Family and worked alongside Executive Chairman Rob Parsons and Focus founder Dr. James Dobson. Booth has also helped build a 48-bed nursing home, chaired several charity boards, and recently began work on a social justice project with Legal Shield in the U.S., specializing in assisting small businesses (up to 100 employees).

Coffee, tea and pastries will be available at the meeting, which is free for chamber members who R.S.V.P. at cccnw.net. A $5 donation is suggested from non-members and guests who R.S.V.P. For full information, go to the chamber’s website or call 503-928-8354.
