Alumna speaks on effective listening at Aug. 28 event on campus

Effective listening will be the topic as alumna Anna Briggs of V2A (Vision to Action) Solutions, a Lake Oswego business consulting and coaching firm, speaks at the Tuesday, Aug. 28, monthly Newberg meeting of the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest. The meeting is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Villa Academic Complex.

Briggs works with her husband, Larry, at V2A Solutions. She says her goal of becoming the best listener possible starts and ends as a wife and the mother of five young adults, two stepsons and two daughters-in-law.

Over the course of the last 25 years of staying home to raise her children, Briggs has been a volunteer facilitator with the Pregnancy Resource Center and The Dougy Center in Portland for grieving children; a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Mentor Mom; and has volunteered in her community at large. Briggs holds a bachelor ’s degree in social and behavioral science from George Fox and is currently working to obtain her professional coaching credentials through Western Seminary.

Coffee, tea and pastries will be available at the meeting, which is free for Chamber members who R.S.V.P. at cccnw.net. A $5 donation is suggested from non-members and guests who R.S.V.P.
