Show honor and respect for our veterans today
George Fox is dedicated to supporting and honoring the men and women who have served our country. Our community is rich with military experience, including over 125 student veterans, seven veteran faculty members, and over 100 students whose families have sacrificed greatly.
Our veterans represent all branches, ranging in background from a retired U.S. Army colonel to a U.S. Marine Corps lance corporal. We recognize the heavy, real-life costs of their commitment – the missed life events, the physical and mental burdens and the strain on families and marriages. These stories are deeply personal.
In the spirit of our Be Known promise, we encourage everyone to approach our veterans today (Veterans Day) with an attitude of humility and trust. Avoid assumptions about their experiences. Instead, ask respectful questions and be known as someone who recognizes and values the sacrifice they and their loved ones have made.
