The Jane Austen conference is right around the corner!

Dear Readers and Writers,

Interested in Jane Austen, dancing or theatre? Join the English department Nov. 14-15 for our annual Eclectic Texts Conference, “Beneath the Bonnet: The Secret World of Jane Austen”! This two-day event will feature:

  • Ten panel sessions of student papers and interactive activities
  • A Regency-era “Austentatious” Ball on the night of Friday, Nov. 14 (the best costume will receive a prize)
  • Two keynote presentations given by cinematic arts professor Alex Chung and senior English major Nat Green
  • A theatre production of one-act scenes from Austen’s Juvenilia, directed by Joe Thouvenal and performed by George Fox students and alumni
