Newberg’s wood ministry hosts wood-stacking competition this Saturday

Let’s bring the warmth this winter! This year, George Fox students are joining hands with the wood ministry in Newberg – a dedicated team of volunteers who split and deliver free firewood to families in need in our community. They know that, for many of our neighbors, a pile of wood is more than a comfort – it’s a lifeline.

Join us this Saturday, Nov. 8, at 8:30 a.m. at Fernwood Pioneer Cemetery to help out. Here’s the schedule:

  • 8:30 a.m. – Coffee and donuts
  • 9 a.m. – Service and wood-stacking competition (friendly, fun and meaningful!)
  • 11:30 a.m. – Work ends
  • Noon – Lunch and fellowship
  • 1 p.m. – Event wrap-up

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the essential costs of delivering firewood to our neighbors in need.

You can help by joining us for the event and bringing your friends, your volunteer spirit, and your heart for community. If you can’t make it, consider giving a donation online – any amount helps lighten someone’s winter. Finally, help spread the word to raise awareness for this ministry.
