Wellness Wednesdays: Financial Wellness

Join free exercise class during PT’s Health and Wellness Week

This year the physical therapy program is offering four free exercise classes as part of our Health and Wellness Week.

Would you like to learn how you can do resistance training at home with minimal or no weights? Curious about Zumba? Interested in the benefits of yoga? Want to learn how to stretch and strengthen you back? These classes will be held Tuesday, May 17, through Thursday, May 19. Details can be found here.

Have pain in your patella? Join free rehab study

Do you or someone you know currently suffer from patellofemoral pain (pain around the patella bone) or jumper’s knee (pain at the patellar tendon)?

Jason Brumitt, PT, PhD, is recruiting individuals with either of these conditions to participate in a rehabilitation study. All treatments associated with this study are free.

Bridge Cafe announces summer hours

The Bridge Cafe will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. this summer. We’re serving coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, salads and more, and accept cash, credit and debit cards, or faculty club cards.

Moms of young children gather tomorrow for lunch

Each semester, employees who are mothers of young/school-aged children, as well as expectant mothers, gather for an informal networking lunch. This semester’s lunch has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) from noon to 1 p.m. in Canyon Commons 3.

Explore virtual reality this Friday afternoon in Canyon Commons

Are you interested in virtual, augmented, or mixed reality technology? All are welcome to join us for a virtual reality exhibition in Canyon Commons banquet rooms 102 & 103 from noon to 3 p.m. this Friday, May 6.

We will be hosting special guest Robert Victorino to share recent implementations of the technology at Portland Community College, followed by an opportunity to try out a variety of VR and AR experiences from our own community.

Be sure to bring any items for deposit to finance office before you leave campus

If your contract ends soon and/or you will not be on campus through the summer, please bring over any cash or checks before you leave.

Please look around your desks and file cabinets to see if there are any lingering items that need to be deposited. Checks dated prior to June 30, 2022, must be deposited in the current fiscal year.
