New COVID testing guidelines in effect
We understand that it has been a challenge to get access to COVID-19 testing. And this week, the Health and Counseling Center received communication from Yamhill County and the Oregon Health Authority instructing us to “only use tests for people with moderate/severe illness or people with high risk for complications.”
We will begin following this guidance immediately until the national testing shortage improves. In the meantime, here are some resources outside campus to consider when trying to obtain a test:
- Ordering a COVID-19 home test from USPS
- Finding a Providence testing facility in your area. You might need a same-day appointment at some locations, but walk-in clinics typically provide immediate testing as supplies last. Please call the facility to confirm test availability and requirements. Many clinics provide testing for people who are experiencing symptoms only.
