Information about church shuttles

Thursday, August 29th, 2019

Are you looking for a church while you are at George Fox? The Office for Spiritual Life has a web page to help you get connected with area churches.

There will also be a church fair on the quad during dinner on Serve Day, Wednesday, Sept. 11, so you can get acquainted with pastors and ministry opportunities.

Starting this weekend, a number of area churches are sending shuttles to our campus to make it easy for you to get to church during the month of September.

The following churches have worked with the Spiritual Life Office and have agreed to ensure your safety by adhering to these university stipulations: two representatives in the vehicle, a sign clearly marking the vehicle, and pick-up and drop-off before and after services. Although these churches are trusted community partners, we ask you to use discretion in your church search and travel.

All shuttles will pick up in front of the Spiritual Life Office at Barclay House.

  • Red Hills Church – 8:35 to 8:45 a.m., 10:35 to 10:45 a.m.
  • Northwest Christian Church – 8:30 to 8:45 a.m., 10 to 10:15 a.m.
  • North Valley Friends Church – Sept 1. at 10:20 a.m., and Sept. 8, 15, 22, 29 at 10:35 a.m.
  • Northwest Christian Church – 8:30 to 8:45 a.m., 10 to 10:15 a.m.

Hadlock climbing wall updates

Thursday, August 29th, 2019

The climbing wall in the Hadlock Student Center is officially open for the year!

Bouldering is available anytime the student center is open, and roped hours are Monday through Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. All climbers will need to update certifications for the new academic year.

For bouldering, you’ll need to complete the new gym orientation process prior to using the facility. This will include watching this Climbing Wall Orientation video and taking a short assessment before being cleared to climb. Bouldering certifications from the previous year will be honored through Sept. 1.

If you’re looking to use the ropes, please check in with the climbing wall staff during designated hours for a belay assessment, or sign up for a Belay Fundamentals class through if you’ve never climbed before.

We’re excited to see you come in and try all the new routes! Questions? Email

Commuters: Review the Student Handbook

Thursday, August 29th, 2019

Commuter students: Please take time to review the Student Handbook. Because you are living off campus and are not attending all area meetings with Residence Life, this is your reminder from the Office of Commuter Life to review our community’s expectations for you.

The Undergraduate Student Handbook is a significant resource that articulates the lifestyle standards, community policies, and other aspects of the George Fox community. We hope that you find this searchable handbook to be an informative and helpful tool.

This handbook may be updated or amended at any time by action of university personnel. Students are responsible for reviewing and adhering to all published university policies.
