Volunteer to plant trees in Hess Creek Canyon

Do you enjoy the beautiful trees on campus? Would you like to learn how to successfully plant a tree?

On Monday, April 29, we will have a volunteer tree planting day in the Hess Creek Canyon area from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers are welcome to come and go, but be sure to be dressed appropriately.

Meet below the Crisman Crossing bridge at 9 a.m. If we have a large number of volunteers, we may also do some invasive removal.

Any questions can be directed to the Plant Services office at ext. 2010.

Come to veterans’ breakfast this morning

The Veterans United Association is hosting a pop-up breakfast in the FoxHole today (Monday) from 7 to 8:30 a.m. All veterans are welcome to stop by and get a hot meal.

Claim lost items at Campus Public Safety office before end of the semester

If you have lost something, be sure to come to the Campus Public Safety office soon, because all remaining unclaimed items will be donated to Phase II at the end of the semester.

Anything found in the student residences when they are deep-cleaned will be kept until Friday, May 31, before it is all donated to charitable causes, so be sure to double-check your residence before moving out!

If you work out in Wheeler, Duke or Hadlock, check for your lost items in those buildings before leaving school as well.

Audition for next year’s dance team this Wednesday

Are you interested in performing with the George Fox dance team for the 2019-20 academic year? Come to a workshop to learn a short routine and audition on Wednesday, April 24, from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. in the Hadlock Student Center fitness room.

The dance team performs at home football and basketball games and is open to all undergraduate and graduate students.

PT students offer physical activity counseling

Are you interested in increasing your physical activity but unsure of what to do? Schedule an appointment for health counseling with a licensed physical therapist and PT students.

These appointments are in the Roberts Center on Fridays for 30 minutes and include physical fitness testing, safe exercise counseling, and ideas to increase activity.

Learn web editing at training session on May 13

Once the dust settles from the end of the semester, please email any vehicle changes to Nadine Kincaid at nkincaid@georgefox.edu or bring your DMV registration slip to the Campus Public Safety office to update your registration. If you have moved since you registered, we need to know that as well.

If you work at the Portland Center and come frequently to the Newberg campus, please go to MyGFU and register for a staff parking permit to avoid being ticketed for non-registration when you come to Newberg.
