With less than a week until the fall semester begins, your vehicle registration needs to be completed at your earliest convenience as it will now take 1-2 weeks after registration to receive your parking permits. If you have already completed the registration process, please disregard this message and any follow-up messages and thank you for completing the process! Students who do not own a car can also disregard this message.
For those of you that still need to register, here are some hints and tips:
1. Log on to myGFU, locate GFU Resources, and click on the Vehicle Registration link near the bottom of the listings. (https://www.permitsales.net/GeorgeFoxU)
2. Use the 7 digits of your ID # that are in-between the dashes on your ID card.
3. Have your DMV registration card in front of you as you will need the information found on it.
4. Make sure you complete the entire process and look for the two check boxes that need to be checked before the process is complete.
5. Once the screen indicates you have successfully completed the process, you will receive a confirmation e-mail of your order.
6. When your permit has been processed and is ready to be mailed, you will receive a second e-mail with a link to print out a temporary permit to use until your permit arrives. Place that temporary permit on your dashboard and use it until your permit arrives.
7. Commuters with two cars should register them one right after the other, and the permits will be sent in two separate envelopes, but you will only be charged for one permit.
8. Married couples who are both GFU students should have one person register both cars to avoid being charged twice.
9. If you live on campus, use 418 N. Meridian St. Newberg, OR 97132 with your PO box number in the “mailing address†line as it is too late to send it to your home address.
10. Any permits sent to your campus PO box will need to be signed for at Mail Services-they will NOT be put into your campus mailbox.
11. A parking brochure will be included in the letter containing your parking permit. Be sure to locate the areas where your permit allows you to park, and keep the brochure in your car for the first month of school in case your parking lot is full so you will know other available lots/areas to park.
12. Permits need to be affixed to the exterior of the vehicle and must be clearly visible from the rear of the vehicle. Do not place them on top of another permit!
13. If you live in the Good Neighbor zone which is roughly bordered by Hwy 99/College Street/railroad tracks/Villa Street, you may qualify for a gratis Neighborhood Permit. This permit doesn’t grant you any on-campus parking privileges, but it does indicate to Security officers and your neighbors that you do indeed live there.
Contact Security for more information on procuring a Neighborhood Permit as proof of residency is required and you will register in the Security office.
