Fitness Center

There will be no towel service in the Fitness Center From Friday 12/21 thru 1/7/08.  We do, however, have new anti-bacterial towels in dispensers to wipe down the equipment.  If you want a towel for your personal use you’ll need to bring one with you.  Thank you.

Bruin Den releases holiday schedule

The Bruin Den will be open through Thursday, Dec. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The grill will close at 1 p.m. each day.

The Bruin Den will close on Friday, Dec. 21, and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 9:30 a.m. Both the Bruin Den and Villa Cafe will resume regular schedules on Jan. 7.

Senior capstone class offers cleaning service

A senior capstone business project, Clean Sweep, is available for employees and students. The cleaning service will arrive with two crew members and all supplies needed to clean your home. The rate for the two-person cleaning team is $30 an hour. Services will include but are not limited to dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning showers, cleaning toilets, wiping counters, dusting cobwebs, emptying trash bins, cleaning appliances, and cleaning windows. Customize the cleaning you want for your home.

If you are a dependent student planning to marry in 2008 and have not yet completed your bachelor’s degree, please make an appointment with your Financial Aid Counselor before you file your FAFSA.  She will help you determine when it is best for you to file. 

Please be aware that you cannot change your dependency status due to getting married so it is important to take a few minutes in Student Financial Services to be able to make an informed decision.

Thank you, George Fox!  The Urban Services coin drive and jewelry drive this semester were a tremendous success.  We were able to give jewelry to women in Portland and Salem as Christmas presents, and still have more gifts to give.

Midyear commencement ceremony scheduled Dec. 15

The university will host its midyear commencement ceremony in the James and Lila Miller Gymnasium on the Newberg campus Saturday, Dec. 15. The commencement will start at 2 p.m., with audience seating at 1 p.m. Tickets are not required. Seating is limited to no more than 10 guests per graduate.

Nearly 190 students will take part in the ceremony. Graduates are to assemble at the Wheeler Sports Center at 1 p.m. For more information on the ceremony, visit the commencement website.
