Tickets now available for spring drama, ‘The Balkan Women’

Come support our theatre students at the spring drama, The Balkan Women, directed by senior student Cambria Herrera.

Performances are in Wood-Mar Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, and Thursday through Sunday, April 14-17. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday matinee (April 17), scheduled at 2 p.m.

Tickets are free for students for the Thursday show (April 14). Employees are entitled to one complimentary ticket. Please bring your student or employee ID to the door when you attend the show. Additional tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 or older, and $6 for George Fox students and children under 12.

Tickets may be picked up/purchased at the Bruin Store or one hour prior to each show in Wood-Mar Auditorium. They are also available online at theatre.georgefox.edu. A synopsis of the show is also online.

Come to the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s presidential panel. George Fox students will be presenting the platforms of the candidates from 6 to 7:30 p.m. tonight (Friday) in Hoover 105. Join us for an evening of lively political discussion and camaraderie.

Winter and Spring Serve applications due April 15

Applications for the 2017 Winter Serve SpiLgrimage to Nepal and Spring Serve Spilgrimage to Haiti with the university’s French department are open!

Nepal (Winter 2016-2017): Applications are reopening and can be found at the SpIL website under “Get Involved” and “Service + Ministry” or by following this link.

Haiti (Spring 2017): Additional applications required; contact Isabelle Corneaux (icorneaux@georgefox.edu) and trip leader Jacques St Gelus (jstgelus14@georgefox.edu).

Call for name tag orders

Marketing communications is collecting orders for name tags. For those who have regular face-to-face contact with the public and need to order a name tag, you may submit your request at this link.

Be sure to provide the name of the person for whom the name tag is needed; title or department (optional); and the chart of accounts budget to be charged. The next order will be placed on Monday, April 4.

As the dining hall nears completion later this spring, please continue to respect the fence and stay out of the building and construction areas. Work in and around the dining hall is still underway. Construction personnel only are allowed inside the fence. The safety of all is our highest priority.

Gathering around a fire in community to pray for people is one of the most precious ways to encounter God and encounter others, and we decided to do just that.

This Sunday, April 3, at 7 p.m., we’ll be taking the prayer requests from the Prayer Chapel and gathering together in the Pavilion in the canyon to worship, pray over the requests together, and enjoy community by the fireside. Come join us in this amazing opportunity! We’ll see you there.

Interested in getting involved with Relay for Life? Come to meeting tonight

Join us in kicking off the Newberg Relay for Life at George Fox! All students and staff are invited to learn more about the event and how they can become involved. Find us in Hoover 103 at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday) for a short information session with speakers, prizes and cookies! See you there!

Relay for Life is a 24-hour event in which teams and participants take turns walking the track at Newberg High School to symbolize a person’s journey through cancer. Fundraising games and activities take place before and during the event. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Autism across cultures discussed Wednesday
