President Baker speaks at sunrise service Easter Sunday

The university community is invited to the annual Bald Peak Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 5, at Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint. President Robin Baker will be the speaker.

The Laurel Community Church and the Scholls Community Church co-sponsor the service, beginning the tradition in the late 1930s. More than 200 attended last year’s service. Bald Peak Scenic Viewpoint, from which five mountains can be seen, is nine miles northwest of Newberg on Bald Peak Road. The event will also include a bonfire.
