Alumna from Afghanistan shares this Monday night

The campus community is invited to the next installment of the “Islam and the West” Liberal Arts and Critical Issues series this Monday, Nov. 3, in Hoover 105. The session runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features alumna Suhila Haidary, who will speak on the topic “Trapped in the Crossfire: Women and Children Under the Taliban.”

Haidary was a child of 6 when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. She will share on the experience of women and children during and after Taliban rule, highlighting the artificial divisions and injustices created by radical Islamist rule. The same session is presented from 5 to 6 p.m.; however, it is recommended that the general public attend the evening session, if possible.
