The university’s performing arts department invites you to a series of concerts in the coming week. All events will be held in Bauman Auditorium and are free unless noted.
Here is the schedule:
- Tonight (Thursday), the university’s Jazz Ensemble, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform at the Bruin Preview Concert at 7:30 p.m.
- This Saturday, April 6, a faculty bassoon recital featuring Sam Rhoton is scheduled for 2 p.m.
- On Monday, April 8, the talents of 13 musicians will be on display in a 7:30 p.m. Honors Concert, highlighting their hard work, dedication and artistic growth over the past year.
- On Thursday, April 11, the university’s Worship Ensemble will lead a night of contemporary worship beginning at 7:30 p.m.
- Next week culminates with a performance of Mozart’s Coronation Mass on Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. The concert is free for George Fox students and employees, as well as children. Additional tickets can be purchased here.

Immerse yourself in a special night under the stars as we honor the birthday of one of history’s greatest writers! George Fox’s Shakespeare acting class, alongside members of the Newberg and George Fox community, will perform monologues and scenes, both poignant and hilarious.
Performances with take place in our outdoor amphitheater (or Wood-Mar Auditorium if it is actively raining) on Tuesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m.

Come hear George Fox alumnus Dr. Jon Kershner speak about John Woolman, one of the most significant Quakers in history. Dr. Kershner will be sharing his expertise on Woolman’s theology in Canyon Commons 103 on Monday, April 8, from noon to 1:20 p.m.
A Q-and-A will follow the lecture. Lunch will be available in the Canyon Commons dining area for those who are not on a meal plan.

This year, nursing students will be traveling to Costa Rica to provide medical services to underserved people. We are holding a fundraiser at Panda Express all day tomorrow (Friday) and on Friday, May 10.

Join our neighbors from Friendsview and Friendship House in a springtime afternoon activity on Wednesday, April 10, from 2:45 to 4 p.m.!
You will get the opportunity to pot flower seeds alongside residents of both Friendsview and Friendship House while also building relationships and connections with them! Afterwards, we will have the chance to hand out planted pots to the residents who were not able to join us in the planting process.
We will meet in the lobby of Friendsview’s main building and head down to the residential area together. Sign up on Helper-Helper.

Want to work on campus this summer? Event Services can make your dreams come true!
Event Services will be offering three student employment opportunities. There will be 10 total positions, with options for both full-time all summer and full-time short term from Monday, June 17, to Friday, July 5.
Here are the three employment opportunities for this summer:
- Conference specialist, five positions: This is a team of students who provide the front line of event and conference preparedness. You’ll be setting up and checking meeting spaces, checking guests into housing, cashiering at meals, and helping at a variety of activities, including athletic and music events, banquets, and worship gatherings.
- Scheduling assistant, one position: This student employee will assist with detailed work of conference registrations, housing key inventory, distribution and collection, preparing arrival packets, backing up the conference specialists when extra hands are needed, and a variety of other office tasks
- PCI mentors, four positions: This job is a short-term position from Monday, June 17, to Monday, July 5, with the opportunity to transition into a conference specialist position when the mentor position ends. PCI mentors will be leading evening activities and staying overnight in the dorm with high school students attending the Pre-College Summer Institute. RA experienced preferred but not necessary.

Today (Tuesday) is the last day to sign up to be an overnight host for Bruin Preview! Prospective students are coming to campus this Friday, April 5, for our spring Bruin Preview event and will be spending the night on Thursday, April 4, on campus with a current student.
If you have space in your dorm room, on-campus apartment or house, we’d love to have you host a student Thursday night.
Hosts will get elective chapel credit and a Chapters gift card! All new hosts are required to attend the host training meeting today (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. in Hoover 105. Alternative times are available if needed. You can sign up here.
