The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is seeking participants between the ages of 60 and 90 for a study that aims to assess the use of telehealth as a way to screen for frailty in community-dwelling older adults. If you know of anyone in this age range who might be interested, let us know!
In order to qualify for this study, participants must:
Be 60-90 years old, live independently or in an assisted living facility
Able to walk without the help of another person
Pass a mental status exam.
Participants must not:
Have been diagnosed with a neurological condition
Have a current illness or health issues that would make performing physical activities unsafe
Participants will be asked to attend one test session lasting about one hour during which they will be asked to perform a physical performance test both in a lab and telehealth setting. Cameras will record the movement of markers that will be placed on your body, and force plates in the ground will record your foot contact during the sit-to-stand activity in the lab. Performance during the telehealth activities will be recorded.
If you are interested in learning more about the study, or would like to participate, please contact Lyndsey Stutzenberger at lstutzenberger@georgefox.edu or at 503-554-2463.
Please plan to join us for a candid conversation with President Robin Baker and Provost Andrea Scott. Hear their thoughts about Antipas Harris’ book, Is Christianity the White Man’s Religion? How the Bible is Good News for People of Color.
This is your last chance to join a discussion about the book and ask questions! We’ll meet Tuesday, March 23, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. via Zoom and in Roberts 117 (limited capacity). Watch the Daily Bruin for additional details.
Get ready for advising season by attending a live Q&A for faculty with Colleen Sump (CAP Coach) and Todd Curtis (Chair of the GE Committee). Drop in anytime today (Tuesday) between 4 and 5 p.m. over Zoom.
You’ll learn about how the new GE package will affect current students, as well as other things you need to know for the upcoming advising season. Bring your questions!
Perhaps you’ve heard the word as it relates to online learning: asynchronicity. It’s basically just a fancy way of saying you can watch online lectures whenever you want!
It’s Reason #4 (of 5) of why students here love the summer online program. They don’t have to attend lectures online at any particular time. Rather, they do their coursework when it’s most convenient for them.
So, if you’re a stay-up-late kind of person who doesn’t like getting up early, don’t sweat it: You can watch into the wee hours of the night and sleep in. You get to determine what class schedule works best for you.
Are you a veteran who will be graduating this spring or summer? Would you like to receive a red, white, and blue honor cord to indicate your service at commencement?
If so, please complete this form by Thursday, April 1.
The Black Student Union is a multicultural club run by the Intercultural Resource Center. If you are interested in getting involved with the BSU next year, please submit this council application.

The university is rolling out a new general education package starting this fall. These changes will affect you if you still have general ed courses to take!
If you have questions, join us for a live virtual Q&A on Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. CAP Coach Colleen Sump and GE Committee Chair Todd Curtis will be on hand to answer your questions about how the new GE package will affect you, as well as any other questions you may have about the upcoming registration season.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Mark Condo, pastor of Reedwood Friends Church, will host Joseph Clair, dean of the School of Theology, and Tyler Tate, director of the Miles J. Edwards Directorship for Professionalism and Comfort Care at OHSU, via Zoom (Password: “RFCLive”).
Tate will present for the Reedwood Forum on “Love Your Patient as Yourself: Restoring the Virtue of Love to the Practice of Healthcare.”
This presentation is open to all but especially hopes to be of interest to students and faculty in the healthcare sector.

We are inviting you to join the Meal Train and help deliver meals to him and his family. You can deliver the meals directly, or order them via a restaurant or grocery store. You can also send gift cards (the email address to use for this purpose is provided on the Meal Train page).
Please join us in prayers for his treatment and successful recovery. May our Lord heal him, body and soul. May his pain cease, may his strength increase, may his fears be released. May blessings, love, and joy surround Andrew and his family in this difficult time. Amen.
