Campus Public Safety would like to offer the following safety tips as we are enjoying warmer weather:
- Be sure to secure your windows!
- If you want to sleep with open windows, buy some wooden dowels and cut them three inches shorter than the width of your window track.
- Placing the dowel in your window track locks the window so that nobody can enter from the outside while still allowing cooler evening air to come into your room.
- Don’t prop exterior doors open, and be sure to close any exterior doors that you do find propped open.
- Do not allow anyone to enter your residence who isn’t accompanied by another resident.
- Walk in pairs at night, or call Campus Public Safety for an escort back to your residence.
- If you see somebody who doesn’t seem to belong on campus, contact Campus Public Safety immediately. Don’t wait!
- Our officers will respond immediately and will have a better chance of making contact with the individual if you call right away.
Questions? Call Campus Public Safety (503-554-2090) or email Elrike Shaw (eshaw@georgefox.edu).
