The George Fox University School of Nursing and School of Social Work would like to invite you to participate in the university’s Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS).
It is difficult for those of us who have enough to truly understand the situations that families living in poverty experience. That is why our students are required to participate in CAPS, and why we need you as a volunteer to help make it a success. As a volunteer, you will be “acting” out the part of a business owner or agency member.
Our simulation event will be held from 12:45 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, in Canyon Commons. Please RSVP to Kim Rapp (rappk@georgefox.edu) or Jenny Vuksich (jvuksich@georgefox.edu) by Thursday, Sept. 23, if you are willing to participate.

All students who plan to bring a vehicle to campus must register their vehicles for parking permits!
Since the university’s parking registration fee has been incorporated into the student fee, students will no longer need to pay an additional out-of-pocket fee to register their vehicle. Students bringing a vehicle to campus must register their vehicle here and obtain a parking permit. When you register, make sure you have your DMV registration slip in front of you.
Remember that residents, commuters, and graduate students must register for their corresponding permits, and vehicles must be parked in the lots assigned to their permit. There have been significant changes in parking areas this year, so be sure to look over our new parking map to ensure you are parking in the right place.
If you have any trouble registering your vehicle, please call the Campus Public Safety office at 503-554-2090 so that we may assist you.
Questions? Call the Campus Public Safety office at the above number, or email Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu.
