Do you know an undergraduate junior or senior who loves deep theological conversations? Do they love encouraging, discipling, and pursuing the Lord in community? If so, invite them to apply to be a group leader at Theologia!
Theologia is George Fox’s Summer Theology Institute for rising high school juniors and seniors. Our group leaders facilitate conversations and relational culture and lead scholars through a week of fun and challenging conversations and activities.
Compensation is up to $1,000 for the week. Training will be taking place July 9–10, and the Institute will be run from July 11–15.

Hey D&D nerds! This week, we’re hosting two fun workshops – one for players and one for Dungeon Masters!
For the players, this week’s topic is “Intro to Spellcasting.” We’re here to not only provide you with a crash course on how spells work in D&D, but also to answer those questions that you have. Join us from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight (Friday) in Hoover 211 to gain some magical skills.
Every Monday we also host our DM workshop! Even if you just have a couple of questions, stop on by Hoover 211 at 8 p.m. to get them answered!

The university community is invited to Bauman Auditorium for “An Evening of Jazz,†featuring jazz pianist Randy Halberstadt, at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Friday). Admission is free.
Halberstadt taught at Cornish School of the Arts in Seattle and has performed with jazz luminaries Herb Ellis, Dee Daniels, Bobby Shew, Joe LaBarbera, and many more. He will be performing with the university’s jazz ensemble and faculty jazz combo.

Come hear Mustafa Akyol’s talk, “An Islamic Case for Freedom and Tolerance: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern Crisis,†at 6:30 p.m. this Monday, Feb. 21, in Hoover 105.
Mustafa is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute’s Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity, a frequent opinion writer for The New York Times, and the author of multiple books, including Reopening Muslim Minds: A Return to Reason, Freedom, and Tolerance (2021). The talk is free and open to the general public.

Seniors in the kinesiology department are conducting research on indoor versus outdoor physical activity and its effects on mood, strength performance, and aerobic performance. We are in need of volunteers to participate in our study.
Participants will be asked to meet on two different occasions to perform a brief physical activity: once indoors in the Hadlock Student Center, and once outdoors on the track. Participants are asked to be between 18 and 22 years of age and in good health. Both male and female individuals are welcome.

The PsyD program is offering simulated psychotherapy sessions with our first-year student therapists. If you are interested, please complete this form by tomorrow (Friday).
This experience is designed for students who want to learn more about themselves and want space to explore topics like problems with family or friends, sadness or anxiety, or some of the challenges and adjustments to college.
This experience is not the best fit for students who are dealing with severe depression, suicidal intent, eating disorders, or significant substance abuse problems. (We encourage students with these concerns to contact the Health and Counseling Center at 503-554-2340). If you are unsure if this session is right for you, feel free to sign up and we will link you with the proper service.
