We are privileged to welcome guitarist Doyle Dykes in concert at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) in Wood-Mar Auditorium.
Dykes is arguably the most gifted fingerstyle guitarist alive today, and he has dedicated himself and his gifts to the Lord, blending Scripture and inspirational stories into his playing. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to spend an evening with him.
In addition to his evening performance, Dykes will be hosting a guitar clinic Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. in Ross 208. To reserve a spot, contact Emma Rieth at erieth@georgefox.edu.
These events are both free and open to the public.

At the end of every school year, many students have good, reusable items that they don’t want to take home. These items often include clothing, blankets, kitchen supplies, small appliances, room decorations, small furniture, etc.
In an effort to keep the dumpsters from overflowing and to be better stewards of resources, Phase 2 was initiated. We are happy to receive reusable items that students do not want to take home, starting today and going through Sunday, April 30. The gathered items will be donated to different organizations in the local area.
Collection barrels will only be placed in dorm lobbies across campus. There will also be a drop-off location at Plant Services (#59 on the campus map) during normal business hours, in or near the receiving bay located to the left of the main entrance. Look for and use these barrels as you prepare to leave the campus. Please place donated items in bags inside the barrels.
We do not accept:
- Trash
- Damaged, broken, or dirty items
- Undergarments or socks
- Items bigger than the barrel
- Liquids
- Chemicals (may be placed in a box or bag next to the barrels)
- Food: Take sealed, unexpired food to the Bruin Community Pantry in Roberts
There will also be a few extra-large dumpsters for trash located on campus. By law, computers, monitors, and TVs cannot go into the trash. They can be placed beside the barrels; please note if they are broken.
Contact Rob Leslie at rleslie@georgefox.edu with any questions.

The Maker Hub’s Router Table is not a table full of Wi-Fi routers. Rather than managing internet connection, the SawStop Router Table in the Maker Hub’s wood shop can be used to make custom moldings and slots in workpieces.
Router tables are extremely versatile in the types of cuts they can perform. Holes and channels of varying depths and nearly limitless shapes can be cut. The router table can also use special bits to cut bevels and chamfers along the edges of a workpiece. Check out this video to see how it works, and visit the Maker Hub’s wiki page for more information.
The Maker Hub exists as a resource and creative outlet for the entire George Fox community (yes, including non-engineers!). We are looking for student aces. A student ace is simply an expert on a piece of equipment who helps train other students on the usage of that equipment and gains extra privileges within the Maker Hub.
Please email makerhub@georgefox.edu if you would like to get connected or have any questions.
