The Career and Academic Planning Center will be holding its first career fair of the year on Tuesday, Oct. 10. It will be held in Canyon Commons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This career fair is for all students and all majors. A variety of businesses representing various industries will be here to share their internship and employment opportunities with you. You never know, you might make a connection that changes your life! Please stop by.

Explore your study abroad opportunities at today’s fair

Are you interested in studying abroad? The Center for Study Abroad is hosting a study abroad fair today (Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

Many of our off-campus programs will have representatives present, so come by to get information about different programs, countries, and their requirements. We will also be passing out information about the Center for Study Abroad application requirements and due dates.

There will also be a prize drawing of $500 toward a study abroad program of your choice for those who attend and participate.

Be aware of password reset system update

George Fox IT is updating some systems used to manage password resets. Due to these changes, the next time you log in to single sign-on (login.georgefox.edu) you may be prompted to add a secondary email address and a security question. This should be a one-time process.

Participate in Tutor Appreciation Week with a hand-written card

This week (Oct. 2-6) is Tutor Appreciation Week! To express your appreciation for a tutor (or a consultant) who has impacted you, stop by the ARC for cards to write thank-you notes.

You can choose to address it to a specific consultant and leave it in the ARC, deliver it to a consultant personally, or write a general note to the tutors on campus! We hope to you stop by the ARC for Tutor Appreciation Week!

It’s not too late to join us in Canyon Commons at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) for the kickoff of Satisfy, a new student-led worship, prayer and teaching initiative.

We believe that every student at George Fox is here because they are hungry in a way that only God can satisfy, and we want to continue to pursue him together in community.

Join us for a meal (bring a plate from the Bon or food from home), a time of teaching about bold prayer and community (the supporting Scripture behind our mission and program), and a time of discussion.

This space is open to everyone of any background. We would love to meet and spend time getting to know you!

Learn to make okonomiyaki at Bruin Community Pantry on Oct. 15

Computer science professor Heather Orr will share her culinary skills with eight students on Sunday, Oct. 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. Participants will learn how to make okonomiyaki, a Japanese cabbage pancake with seafood. To sign up, visit this link.

This event is set up on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited to eight participants, so sign up early. There will be a waitlist created.

Bear in mind the ingredients involved: cabbage, imitation crab, bay shrimp, green onions, eggs, oil, bonito flakes, and special okonomiyaki sauce. Everything is provided free of charge.
