Tuesday, November 27th, 2018

Take a moment to write an email, e-card, or traditional “thank you” card to that professor, RA, tutor, supervisor, or another influential person. Try to be specific as you describe how this person has contributed to your life.

All invited to Fall Faculty Lecture and Richter Student Scholars Symposium tonight

Monday, October 15th, 2018

All are invited to the Fall 2018 Faculty Lecture tonight (Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in Hoover 105. Our featured speaker will be Professor of Music Brent Weaver, recipient of the 2017-18 Faculty Achievement Award for Graduate Research and Scholarship.

Brent will examine the underlying cognitive structures that our brains perceive, which contribute to our emotional and spiritual enjoyment of music. He will show how a composer can play with those structures to move listeners, using examples from many styles of music.

Come early, between 5 and 6 p.m., and check out the work of our Richter student scholars at a symposium in the Hoover lobby. George Fox students will present their research projects in a conversational poster format.

Both events are sponsored by the Faculty Development Committee. Refreshments will be served.
