1. Submission of the following FY2015/2016 requests must be received by the finance department on or before July 8, 2016:

• Invoices
• Expense Reimbursement Requests
• Petty Cash Logs for expenses through June 30, 2016, only

2. All Cash Advance Requests for FY2015/2016 expenses must be received by the finance department on or before June 13, 2016.

Geoffrey Moore, an author, speaker and advisor who has written a million-selling book and advises high-tech enterprises that include Microsoft, Intel and Salesforce, will speak on the George Fox campus on Friday, July 8. The public is invited to attend, and admission is free.

Moore’s life’s work has focused on the market dynamics surrounding disruptive innovations. In addition to writing three books (Crossing the Chasm, The Gorilla Game and Inside the Tornado), Moore’s most recent endeavor, Escape Velocity, addresses the challenge large enterprises face when they seek to add a new line of business to their established portfolio.

Employees: If you still have the white staff permit hang tag, or an adjunct one that expired on Dec. 31, 2015, it’s time to register your car on the new vehicle registration portal on MyGFU! Also, if you’ve changed cars since last summer, it’s time to update which vehicles you are driving to campus. It’s easy and fast!

If you are new to George Fox, or didn’t register on the new database last summer, just grab that vehicle registration form from the DMV and sign in to MyGFU. The vehicle registration link is underneath “GFU Resources.” It will ask you basic information about your vehicle, and also to click in agreement twice. Your permit will be sent to you via campus mail, so be sure to have your university post office box number in front of you before beginning the process.

Staff permits are valid until your permit either breaks or you leave the university. The orange adjunct permits are currently only valid until the last day of 2016, so adjuncts, please stay tuned this fall for instructions on how to re-register after fall semester.

Have a current staff or adjunct permit, but you’ve changed vehicles recently? Just bring your vehicle information to the security office and we will switch over your permit to your new vehicle and get it registered in our office.

Tired of switching permits from vehicle to vehicle? Bring $5 cash to the security office and we can issue you a new permit for that second vehicle.

Work at the Portland Center but come frequently to Newberg for meetings or to teach? We’d love for you to register as well!

The university community is invited to an all-employee meeting from 3:30 to 5 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, June 23) in Hoover 105. The event will be live-streamed at the Portland Center in Room 160.

End-of-the-fiscal-year deposits to be included in this year’s budget must be in finance no later than July 1, 2016. Checks dated prior to June 30 must be deposited in the current fiscal year.

Please look around your desks and file cabinets to see if there are any lingering items that need to go to the bank. If you are taking vacation during the July 4 holiday, please send your deposits over before you leave. If you should have any questions about deposits, please contact Heather Groenlund at ext. 2173.

Final petty cash reconciliations for this fiscal year are due in finance no later than July 8, 2016. Please remember to submit all receipts, cash and reconciliation reports before this deadline. If you will be taking vacation over the July 4 holiday, please plan ahead and send these over before you leave. With the end of our fiscal year quickly approaching, and to ensure a clean cut-off between 2015/16 and 2016/17 spending, the last day to use your Visa card for current fiscal year purchases is Friday, June 24. Please refrain from using your card for any purchases after this date.

If you will be traveling for business during this time, please contact Matt Hammar or Kathi Becker to discuss arrangements on how to handle travel after June 24. The long-awaited Point of Sale software is almost here! On Friday, July 1, the Office of Print Services will be going live with a new method of accepting jobs. You will now be able to send jobs to Print Services via web-to-print.

The web-based software will have all printing options for you to choose from. This web link will give you a sneak peek at the site; you will need to log in with your George Fox user name and password. More information will follow as the launch date draws near.

The Oregon Writing Project Collaborative at George Fox University is pleased to be offering several Young Writers Camps for third- through 12th-grade students. This organization, part of the College of Education, has offered these camps for years at its previous location and is thrilled to be launching them through George Fox.

Topics include Oregon Battle of the Books, Superheroes for a Cause, Creative Nonfiction, and Code/Create/Compose. Please feel free to pass this along to those who might benefit from this experience.
