Please join the University Advancement team to celebrate Robby Larson’s 11 years of excellent service at George Fox. Robby has been a key member of the university’s advancement efforts, serving for five years as the director of alumni relations and six years as a gift officer and director of development.
Robby has accepted the role of vice president of advancement at Multnomah University in Portland, and we want to send him off with our best wishes, support and gratitude. The party begins at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Gregory (EHS) Atrium.

Please join us in celebrating Patti Cooke! She is retiring from George Fox’s custodial department after working for the university just shy of 24 years.
Patti’s areas of responsibility have included cleaning and servicing Ross and Bauman Auditorium as well as several areas in student housing. She has served on the Staff Development Committee and has been to every Serve Day since its inception.
Please drop in to wish Patti well at the Plant Services break room between 10 and 1130 a.m. today (Monday).

In October you will receive information about benefit enrollment options for Tuition Remission, the Exchange Program, and Long-Term Care. We will also be conducting an important benefit survey. We will communicate the details in The Daily Bruin and in emails to benefit-eligible employees.
The Tuition Remission Application for 2018-19 will be available next week. The application will be accepted through Oct. 31 and will be in a fillable Google Doc format again this year. More information will be emailed next week!

The Office of the President and the William Penn Honors Program invite you to hear renowned C.S. Lewis scholar Michael Ward speak tonight (Friday) at 7:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.
Best known for his book Planet Narnia, Ward’s lecture “The Heavens Are Telling The Glory Of God: C.S. Lewis, Narnia, and the Planets” will be followed by a reception and book signing in the Bauman lobby.

The Fall Staff Conference is set for Thursday, Oct. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Our speaker this year is Cynthia Ulrich Tobias. Cynthia’s successful career of 30-plus years has included work as an educator, a police officer and a business owner.
She is a bestselling author of 13 books, a featured guest on radio and television, and a popular presenter for businesses, government agencies, churches and schools throughout the U.S. and the world. She is the mother of twin sons, now young adults, and she lives with her husband Jack in the Seattle area.
“The Way We Work” participants will learn how to recognize their personal learning styles and how to develop effective strategies for communicating with virtually anyone.
