Get the most out of the library databases by learning how to speak their language. Join librarian Kate Wimer to learn some of the tricks of the trade to search powerfully and efficiently.

The Richter Scholars program at George Fox distributes funds to support student research activities that are devised, initiated, and carried out by individual student researchers, with mentorship, guidance, and expertise provided by a faculty mentor.
The purpose of these funds is to support educational research opportunities that encourage the practices of independent thought leading to independent achievement and personal responsibility. For the purpose of this program, research is defined as a knowledge-generating activity that is designed to provide new information on a topic, tool, or process, and that proceeds according to established and accepted research methods.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is seeking participants between the ages of 60 and 90 for a study that aims to assess the use of telehealth as a way to screen for frailty in community-dwelling older adults. If you know of anyone in this age range who might be interested, let us know!

Participants will be asked to attend one test session lasting about one hour during which they will be asked to perform a physical performance test both in a lab and telehealth setting. Cameras will record the movement of markers that will be placed on your body, and force plates in the ground will record your foot contact during the sit-to-stand activity in the lab. Performance during the telehealth activities will be recorded.

The Center for Peace and Justice presents the Spring Woolman Peacemaking Forum tonight (Monday) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Attend to learn about the work of the Mennonite Central Committee on immigration issues around the world.
Our guest speaker will be Dina Gonzalez-Pina, the MCC’s West Coast executive director, who will speak on the topic “Learn-Pray-Join: Immigration Justice, Radical Hospitality.â€Â
We’ll learn specifically how the West Coast MCC works in partnership with local organizations and Anabaptist churches focusing on restorative justice, immigration direct services and education, and peacebuilding along the U.S.-Mexico border. Their “Learn-Pray-Join†initiative works to raise awareness about the treatment of immigrants.
