Join excitement of midyear commencement as a volunteer

Monday, November 22nd, 2021

We are in need of several volunteers to serve as ushers at midyear commencement on Saturday, Dec. 18. We will be in Bauman Auditorium this year, and we’ll have two separate ceremonies.

Undergraduate commencement will begin at 11 a.m., and the graduate commencement starts at 3 p.m. Come help us greet our guests, hand out programs, direct graduates’ family and friends to their seats, and make graduation a special event for everyone!

All George Fox employees who participate as ushers will have the option to receive $50 through payroll, or take three hours off in lieu of this gift. Non-university volunteers will receive a gift card in the same amount.

Please contact Laurie Fair, at ext. 2140 or lfair@georgefox.edu, if you would like to volunteer to serve our grads and their families on this memorable day!

COVID-19 coding reminder from Finance

Thursday, November 18th, 2021

Until further notice, we are continuing to track COVID-19-related expenses. For all purchases made that relate to the COVID-19 pandemic, please enter “COVID-19” in the “chartfield1” field when coding transactions.

Expenses would include personal protection equipment like masks, signage for keeping distance, cleaning equipment, computer software, etc.

This includes all payment methods, including, but not limited to: purchase requisitions, invoices, check request form, Concur reports, expense reports, and petty cash vouchers.

Only one “chartfield1” can be used per transaction, and the COVID-19 code must take priority over another department designation.

Questions? Call Lael May (lmay@georgefox.edu) in Finance at ext. 2170.
