Retrieve your lost items at Campus Public Safety office

Friday, September 21st, 2018

Did you know that the official lost and found is located at the Campus Public Safety office in the Stevens Center parking lot? Due to limited storage, we can only keep items five to eight weeks before they are donated to charitable causes, so come promptly to our office to look for your lost items! Left-behind items in Duke and Wheeler usually stay in Wheeler, and most items left behind in the Roberts Center remain in that building.

There are also lost-and-found boxes at the check-in kiosks at Canyon Commons, so check there first if you may have left items in there. The best practice of all is to take a Sharpie and label your items with your name and phone number so we can notify you (especially phone and computer chargers, water bottles, notebooks and books, lunch bags, calculators, earphones and clothing items).

Questions? Contact Nadine Kincaid (nkincaid@georgefox.edu).

Be prepared for elimination of plastic straws

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

By September of 2019, Bon Appetit will eliminate all plastic straws from our 1,000 cafes in 33 states. We were the first in food service to make this commitment companywide, and as industry leaders it’s a step we can take toward safeguarding the earth from single-use plastics.

Effective Monday, Sept. 24, Bon Appetit at George Fox will be offering compostable paper straws in the Bruin Den and Bridge Cafe. We will continue to offer a small number of plastic straws specifically for our guests with disabilities and access needs. If you really need a straw, we are happy to provide one.

Thank you for joining this worldwide movement away from single-use disposables. We’re glad to have you with us on the leading edge.
