Does the success of science and the discovery of the laws of nature threaten the plausibility of miracles? How should we think about miracles in light of the philosopher David Hume’s influential skeptical arguments?
These are among the questions being discussed at a “Doubters Town Hall: Objections to Miracles” this Sunday, Dec. 2, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in EHS 102. The event is being hosted by the William Penn Honors Program.
Isaac Choi, who studied physics and chemistry at Harvard before his graduate studies in theology and philosophy, will be exploring these questions in a talk, followed by a town-hall format discussion with Choi, Abigail Favale and Ross McCullough.
Contact Helen Morse (hmorse@georgefox.edu) for more information.
