Join the Photography Club this Friday, March 15, on a nature photography hike at the Chehalem Glenn and Gettman Loops. We will be meeting in the Stevens Center parking lot before 4:30 p.m. and carpooling to the location.
We plan to arrive back on campus around 5:30 p.m. We will be going on a slow-paced hike, but we still encourage you to bring water and dress appropriately. Be sure to grab your camera or phone and a jacket and come take pictures with us! Sign up here.

All are invited to the university’s annual Dalton Lecture at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Monday) in Bauman Auditorium.
This year’s lecture, “Two Degrees of Separation: Climate Change and the Pursuit of Truth in a Post-truth World,†will be presented by Richard L. Lindroth, the Vilas Distinguished Achievement professor of ecology and recent associate dean of research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Lindroth’s presentation will explore the fundamental premises of science, how humans engage with facts, and how to improve science communication across ideological, cultural and tribal divisions for the betterment of humanity and the sake of the world.
Following his presentation, a George Fox student research poster session and dessert reception will take place in the Bauman lobby.
Lindroth will also speak in a class in Wood-Mar Auditorium at 3 p.m. this afternoon, presenting a lecture entitled “What Can Chemistry Tell Us about Ecology? Insights into the Ecological and Evolutionary Success of an Iconic Forest Tree Species.†All are welcome to this event as well.

Are you interested in taking your climbing to the next level by venturing outside? This is the class for you! We will cover a variety of topics, including knots, anchor building, and risks unique to outdoor climbing.
There are three class sessions on March 12, 14 and 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The course will conclude with an outdoor excursion on Saturday, April 13.
The course fee is $15 and needs to be paid prior to the first class session. Participants should be experienced climbers and have completed the Hadlock Student Center belay assessment or equivalent. Sign up at imleagues.com.

There is a new museum exhibit in Stevens focusing on our international students over the years. “Global Ties” explores international students and sister schools from the 1950s to today and highlights some of the items in the George Fox University museum collection.
In addition, there is a new online exhibit: “Our History through Our Clothing” (1900-1949) explores some of those associated with Pacific College (the previous name of George Fox) and allows us to display many pieces of historic clothing in our collection. You can find it here.

Professional-musician-turned-intrepid-economist Arthur Brooks travels around the globe in search of an answer to the question: How can we lift up the world, starting with those at the margins of society?

Do you know a senior who demonstrates outstanding service as a servant leader on campus or in the community? You can honor that person and the activity of voluntary service by nominating him or her for the C.W. Perry Servant Leadership Award.
In order for your nominee to qualify, this nomination form must be received by Friday, March 22.
The trustees of the Barney II and Moore Foundations have established the C.W. Perry Servant Leadership Award at George Fox University to reward leadership in the area of community and ministry service.
Only seniors (graduating in May 2019) are eligible for award consideration. Up to four $1,000 awards will be given annually. Each award recipient will be required to set aside $250 of this gift to the charitable organization of his or her choice. The remaining $750 will be distributed to the award recipient in the form of a cash award.
