Each of our exciting clubs will be represented, so you can join them or talk to current members. There will also be information available on how to start a club of your own. Note: No food plan is necessary to visit the fair.

Send a Valentine’s Day note to your family

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and we want to give you a chance to send a “love” note home to your family! Stop by Information Services between now and Saturday, Feb. 1, to fill out a postcard with a message to home.

Parent and Family Programs will pay for the postage and make sure they get in the mail by Feb. 1. There will also be an opportunity to grab one in the Bruin Den on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Bruin Community Pantry announces spring hours

The Bruin Community Pantry‘s food bank is now open. All George Fox community members have access to the pantry, located in Roberts Center 110.

Please note that the entry to the food bank during the kitchen remodel will be through the student lounge. Check out the hours below:

  • Mondays: 8 to 10 a.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m., 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesdays: 9:30 a.m. to noon, 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
  • Thursdays: 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Fridays: Noon to 2:30 p.m.

Award-winning Hollywood producer speaks on campus

All are invited to see award-winning Hollywood producer Nancy de los Santos-Reza present and discuss her new HBO documentary, The Bronze Screen: 100 Years of the Latino Image in Hollywood, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Hoover 105.

De los Santos-Reza’s film provides an overview of how Latinos have been portrayed in Hollywood in each decade of the twentieth century. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer time with de los Santos-Reza.

New climbing classes begin tomorrow

The Hadlock Student Center is offering two courses: Lead Climbing and an intro to movement course, titled “School of Rock,” starting tomorrow (Tuesday). These are four-week classes that will each meet for one hour. Lead Climbing starts at 5 p.m., and School of Rock at 4 p.m.

Delight women’s ministry begins tonight

If you answered yes to these questions, you should come check out Delight! Delight is a national women’s ministry focused on digging deep into God’s Word and building intentional relationships. We love to worship together and cultivate space for meaningful conversation.

Gather for ‘An Evening of Jazz’ tomorrow

The university community is invited to Bauman Auditorium for “An Evening of Jazz” featuring vocalist and bassist Katie Thiroux at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday).

Thiroux will perform with the university’s jazz ensemble and faculty jazz quintet. She is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and has performed with jazz luminaries Geri Allen, Terell Stafford, Ken Peplowski, Jeff Hamilton, Tierney Sutton, and many more.

Students and employees are entitled to one complimentary ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased at georgefox.edu/concerts.

In addition to the concert, Thiroux is doing a master class today (Friday) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Ross 208. School-age students who come (elementary, middle schoolers and high schoolers) can get a voucher for a free ticket to the concert.

NSLS orientation event is set for tomorrow
