Please don’t block fire hydrants when parking

Tuesday, November 12th, 2019

While there is no requirement for any signage or painted curbs to indicate “No Parking,” Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 811.550(16) prohibits parking within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.

Besides the financial penalties that you could incur from the city of Newberg, you could be delaying firefighters from getting water into a burning building when you block a fire hydrant.

Please help us to be good neighbors by being courteous of others and keeping our community safe.
