Our last townball game is tomorrow (Sunday) at 3 p.m. at Morse Athletic Fields. Originally, the last townball game was going to be on Sunday, Nov. 24, but it has been changed.

We will start pickup games again in the spring, so this is the last time to play for a while. Come and see what this amazing game is like!

Plan to attend French baking day

Finance office will close for Thanksgiving weekend

The finance office will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 28, to Monday, Dec. 2, for Thanksgiving.

Deposits that need to be deposited in the month of November must be dropped off at the finance office no later than 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. If it arrives later, it will go into a deposit for December. 

If you are taking extra time off during the Thanksgiving holiday, please send your deposits over before you leave. If you have any questions about deposits, contact Heather Groenlund at ext. 2173.

Come hear Alex Hastings’ violin recital tomorrow

The music department invites you to attend Alex Hastings‘ senior violin degree recital at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday). The recital is free and will be held in Bauman Auditorium.

Alex is a senior student of Rebekah Hanson, and she plans to continue her violin studies in graduate school next fall. Alex will be performing works by Prokofiev, Bach, Paganini, and Saint-Saens, and will be joined by her string quartet to perform Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8.

All are welcome! There will be a small reception in the Bauman lobby to follow the performance.

Attend ‘From Fox to the Priesthood’ talk

Join the Catholic Campus Fellowship for a talk titled “From Fox to the Priesthood” by Stephen Kenyon on Friday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. in Hoover 210.

Kenyon, a 2013 George Fox alumnus, will speak about his journey to Catholicism and then to the priesthood. There will be time for Q&A after the talk. All who are interested in attending Catholic worship are invited to stay afterward for Mass.

Snacks will be provided, and chapel credit is available.

Run a 5K to support a good cause

Want to run a 5K and support a great cause? Come out on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. for the MDA 5K Fun Run!

The Muscular Dystrophy Association supports young men and women battling life-threatening muscular diseases. The goal is to raise awareness and funds for this organization.

Donate food to see a professor get ‘pie-d’

Do you want to see your favorite professor get a pie in the face? Sigma Zeta is hosting a new event!

Donate nonperishable food to a professor’s box of your choosing and the first professor’s box to be filled will get “pie-d” by the competing professor. Different professors will be competing each week. The “pie-ing” will be held the week before finals, and boxes are located under the TV on the second floor of EHS.

This week it is Carlisle Chambers vs. Matt Stump. The boxes must be filled or the professor won’t get “pie-d,” so start donating now!

Bruin Community Pantry announces gift card winners

This fall, George Fox University participated in a Hope Center survey that focused on the struggles, triumphs and realities of what it means to be in college today. 

As part of our participation, the Bruin Community Pantry was to provide $1,000 worth of incentives to those who participated in the survey. We chose to provide $10 to $100 gift cards to students who were randomly selected by the survey administrators.

Get a massage from PT students

Got stress, aches and pains, or do you just want to feel relaxed? We want to help! Come get a massage performed by a doctor of physical therapy student and receive free stress management advice.

Our mission is to improve our community’s health by offering discounted massages to students ($15) and employees ($20). We are offering 30-minute massages on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Roberts Center 204.

All proceeds will help fund our medical service trip to Uganda and Ghana. Donations are also welcome! Preregister here.
