The Richter Committee is pleased to let you know that a series of video presentations from our 2020-21 Richter Scholars is available for viewing on YouTube. In lieu of a poster symposium during fall semester, we asked each participant to record a five- to eight-minute presentation of their research.
You are encouraged to view the videos and send your thanks, encouragement and questions to the individual scholars. Their work is outstanding, and we would like to celebrate this achievement with them. You can access the videos at this link.
Be on the lookout for a second cohort of scholars to present later in spring semester.

Did you know that George Fox offers its students the opportunity to earn the Oregon Seal of Biliteracy? This linguistic credential allows you to prove your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English and Spanish (or any number of other languages).
Many Oregon employers recognize the seal and offer a pay differential for those who have earned it. Contact Debbie Berhó at dberho@georgefox.edu to learn more.

Starting today (Dec. 1), George Fox commuter students who do not plan to bring a vehicle to campus for the spring term can request an exemption from being automatically charged the parking permit fee by completing the parking waiver form, available on this page.
This form must be filled out no later than Jan. 31, 2021 in order to be considered. Please read the waiver form thoroughly as you fill it out.
By signing this form you agree that you will not bring a vehicle and park on George Fox’s Newberg campus or the surrounding Good Neighbor areas (as specified in the parking policies) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
If your vehicle is found parked on campus during these times, the following will occur:
- You will be automatically issued a parking permit, your waiver will be revoked which will reinstate your permit fee, and you will be fined an additional $75 for parking an unregistered vehicle. These citations are not eligible to be appealed.
- You will be required to pick up the permit from Campus Public Safety and an officer will assist you in the proper placement of the permit.
Note: There may be additional fines for any other violations according to the parking policies of the university.
Questions? Call our office at 503-554-2090 during business hours, or email Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu.

Hey everyone! I am inviting you all to participate in my “Dressember” team this December!
“Dressember” is a fundraiser to help prevent, intervene and protect the lives of trafficking victims and survivors worldwide. Ladies, by wearing a dress every day of the month of December, you create awareness and the opportunity for conversation in your community. Men, you can participate, too, either by simply spreading the word or wearing a dress shirt and tie every day in the month of December.
Not all of us will be in Newberg this month, but that makes for even more widespread conversation. To participate, please go to Dressember.com and create your personal page, then look for the team “GFU for change” and join the team!
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email Carissa Bixler (cbixler18@georgefox.edu) Also, if you want to be part of a Facebook group, please fill out this Google survey.
