Please note: Campus Public Safety normally doesn’t allow vehicles to remain on campus during the summer if the owner isn’t currently taking classes.
Exceptions to this policy are as follows:
- Student is on Juniors Abroad or winter/summer serve trip
- Student lives too far away to easily drive home
- International students who purchase vehicles here and return home for breaks
- Students on official George Fox activities (sports activities/academic trips, etc.)
If a student falls within those categories, they may fill out the Vehicles Left on Campus Policy Form, agreeing to the requirements. This form must be completed before you leave campus, and you must leave a key with Campus Public Safety before leaving your vehicle on campus.
Any vehicle left on campus without the key being left with security is subject to tow at your expense due to Plant Services/construction activity all around campus during the summer.
For all other students, it is recommended to leave your car off-campus with a friend who can drive it and watch it, as George Fox is not responsible for any theft or damage to your vehicle while left unattended on campus.
Do not abandon your car on city streets, as the city of Newberg will tow it as an “abandoned vehicle†after 72 hours.
Questions? Call Campus Public Safety at 503-554-2090 or email Elrike Shaw (eshaw@georgefox.edu).

Campus Public Safety has noticed a lot of bikes scattered across campus recently. Please remember to lock your bike to a bike rack with a heavy-duty lock and chain. Leaving bikes in random places creates a temptation for thieves to try to steal your bikes.
At the end of the spring semester, a university-wide bicycle cleanup will be done. Bicycles that are illegally parked, unregistered or inoperable will be impounded, as bicycle racks will need to be cleared to do routine maintenance to the bicycle racks and surrounding areas.
Students using their bikes during the summer are encouraged to move their bikes inside to store them in their summer housing.
Bicycles not picked up from the impound lot within 60 days will be forwarded to local charities at the discretion of the Campus Public Safety office. Junk bicycles will be recycled.
Questions? Call Campus Public Safety at 503-554-2090 or email Elrike Shaw (eshaw@georgefox.edu).
