Sunday, May 9th, 2021

Campus Public Safety will be conducting its annual bicycle roundup starting today (Monday). If you are staying on campus over the summer and plan to keep a bike here, please come to the Campus Public Safety office to get a sticker ID so that your bike will not be removed.

At the end of the spring semester, a university-wide bicycle cleanup is done. Bicycles that are illegally parked, unregistered or inoperable are impounded. Bicycle racks need to be cleared to do routine maintenance to the bicycle racks and surrounding areas.

Bicycles may not be stored on the campus during the summer semester. Bicycle claims can be made at the Campus Public Safety office.

Students using their bikes during the summer must move their bikes to the nearest rack of their summer housing.

Bicycles that are not picked up from the impound lot within 60 days will be forwarded to the local charities at the discretion of the Campus Public Safety office. Junk bicycles will be recycled.

Thursday, May 6th, 2021

The George Fox College of Engineering invites high school students ages 16  to 18 to join us for our inaugural high school Maker Camp July 12-16!

If you know a high school student who loves hands-on projects, figuring out how things work, and exploring the latest technologies in making, send them this link to register for Maker Camp 2021.

Participants will expand their skills with 3-D modeling and printing, automation, computer programming and design as they work alongside George Fox engineering students and faculty to create their own custom engineering devices, utilize industry tools and equipment, and make new friends.

We will take time each day to engage in spiritual reflection, build relationships, and enjoy the beautiful George Fox campus. Maker Camp participants will hear from industry professionals about ways engineering intersects with their walk with Christ and why, as a Christian, they love being in the field of engineering.

Water and gas has been shut off in specific buildings

Tuesday, May 4th, 2021

If you’ve walked by Klages and Pennington, you’ve probably noticed the marked-off area in the grass. Plant Services discovered broken underground lines on Friday, before commencement. Now that our guests have left the campus, Plant Services is resolving the issue.

Until the service is restored, the following buildings have disruption:

  • Water off: Hoover and Pennington
  • Gas off: Brougher, EHS, Hoover, Lemmons, Minthorn, North Street Annex, Ross/Bauman and Wood-Mar

Thank you for your patience as we work to restore service. Contact Dixie Downey (ddowney@georgefox.edu) with questions.
